The Devil You Know, Ain't The Devil

Namaste, Y'all,

A meme that reads, “The devil don't come with horns. He comes with comfort and tells you to rest before the work's done.”  Here are two ancient biblical text descriptions of Lucifer, the Morning Star, who was given the title the most beautiful creation ever by God himself in the Bible (Ezekiel 28:12-19 and Isaiah 14:12-15). Notice how there are no horns, hooves, a massive erect penis, or pendulous breasts, even as some illustrations depict?  Nope, an innocent-looking cherub (angelic being) anointed by the divine for its purpose. And like all created beings, Lucifer had free will to do what he wished with the expressed caveat (warning) of the universal law of karma. He, like countless others, refused to honor this law and received his justice—eternal banishment from the upper regions of heaven into the lower levels of hell, where he and his minions are bound and rule. Hell is a state of suffering for those who have chosen to live in their debased egos (addicts, abusers of power over all sentient life forms, greed, envy, jealousy). Of course this is my opinion, and by no means do I disrespect yours; that's the beauty of individual expression of thought. Many religions and spiritual beliefs depict the devil as a grotesque figure symbolizing his darker side of the human experience, as I mentioned above. You'll find a serpent, demons, half-man or half-animal figures, and more. But I want to focus on his alluring beauty effect. Humans, by nature, are curious beings who are free to explore and express themselves on this earthly plane. As I mentioned earlier, all of us are created extensions of the divine (God) and must obey the universal/cosmic law of karma—cause and effect. It is the great teacher of relationships with the divine and all humanity. Karma is the great balancer of life.  We see this in the Egyptian goddess Ma'at and later Lady Justice, attributed to the astrological sign of Libra—justice, justice—the uniting of  masculine logic (air, mental) and feminine emotions (water, heart). All of this information and more can be found on credible sources via the web and your local library and bookstores. Education is free and available to all now; just use your discernment and make sure to vet your sources.
So why do we focus on the dark side of Lucifer instead of the fact that he's beautifully alluring and uses this to his advantage to trap you into his lair? I believe this is by his design, because he is, after all the master of illusions and the breaker of promises. We have many stories, legends, and poems written about the eternal thirst and misery that ensue when you make a deal with the devil. Selling your soul for a temporal illusion is what countless humans end up doing. They think that fame, fortune, and fulfilling sexual lust are the be-all and end-all experiences, but it only leads to more debt that must be paid, or you'll be taken out, which is a miserable way of living. High style and profile but no inner substance. Don't ever think that the rich live in comfort; they live fearing losing it all. How is this a healthy option when one can live comfortably within their means without worrying about the heavy attachments to their financial status? Let's be honest here... Who are you going to sit down and chat with about making a life-altering contract? A beautiful being or a scary demon? My bet is on the beautiful being because that's how seduction works. You don't see unattractive models being used to represent luxury brands, do you? Hell no, because seduction has to be wrapped up nice and pretty to lure you in and motivate you to sacrifice yourself for fake status. Look at how many people live in beautiful houses. The lawns are manicured, and luxury cars are parked in front, or you imagine in their garage. But the interiors are cheaply furnished, and the tension is palpable. So that house is not a home. It's a nightmare. The trap is exposed in plain sight, and infinite blind eyes are in line waiting for their shot at the table to make the same shitty deal. The devil is not only a liar but also willfully ignorant. I bring up the story of him trying to tempt Jesus over 40 days with earthly treasures and such. It cracks me up because Jesus was a straight-up alchemist, so what could the devil possibly offer him, really? He made wine out of water, fed hundreds with a few small fish and a couple of loaves of bread, walked on water, healed the sick, and raised the dead! The devil had no skin in the game, yet he tried, knowing that his chances were slim to none. Talk about greed and manipulation being his modus operandi. And this also proves that anyone can resist him by remembering we co-create our reality with Source (God) and not easy come-and-go contracts. This is why quick-rich schemes never pan out. It's the slow and steady who win the race. Being grateful and mindful of the opportunities and respecting the process to build wealth that prospers. That's true comfort, my friend.
